According to the International Human Rights Organization Amnesty International, in 2022, the highest number of death sentences were executed in the world in five years.

According to the data from the organization, last year 883 death sentences were executed in the world. According to a report published by Amnesty on Tuesday, the rate of the death penalty in the world increased by more than 50 percent in 2021 from 2021. However, Amnesty did not receive any data on the country's death penalty from China.

It is estimated that in 2022 more than 1000 people were executed in the country. Amnesty also stated in their published report that 90 percent of the world's death sentences are executed in three countries of the Middle East and North Africa, after China. Out of this, 576 people were executed in Iran, 196 in Saudi, and 24 in Egypt.
