In the last 15 months in Phulbari of Kurigram, the police seized drugs worth 2 crore taka and arrested 110 drug dealers with drug cases against 174 people.

Despite the 24-hour anti-narcotics operation, the drug trade is not stopped. As a result, the youth of the area is under threat. Aware citizens with extremely concerned parents.

As 36 km of Phulbari upazila is bordering India, smugglers easily get involved in this drug trade. 

Kurigram's Phulbari police station has been conducting anti-drug public awareness meetings in various areas including schools and colleges at the local level so that the youth does not get involved in drug trade and consumption.

It is known that there are more than two hundred spots across Phulbari Upazila where the locals sell and consume drugs openly. 

By carrying out anti-drug operations in all these spots, the police of Phulbari police station were able to seize a large quantity of phensedyl and Yaba tablets in about 15 months from February 2, 2022, to May 13 this year.
 
The police arrested 110 drug smugglers in the operation and filed a case under the Drug Control Act against 174 people as plaintiffs. According to police sources, the government value of all these confiscated drugs is about 91 lakhs 16 thousand 700 takas. 

The people of Fulbari police station expressed gratitude and thanks to OC Fazlur Rahman of Phulbari police station for continuing the anti-drug operation including the recovery of drugs worth billions of taka.
