Russia is sending nukes to the Ukraine war

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko stated on Thursday that Russia has started sending nuclear weapons to their border region with the European Union. This has further escalated tensions with Western countries over the Ukrainian conflict. The news was reported by AFP.

As part of diplomatic efforts, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the visit of Li Huawei, China's special envoy to Ukraine, to Moscow. This is Beijing's latest attempt to bring an end to this war.

After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Li Keqiang plans to travel to Moscow. It is expected that he will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday. Lukashenko, during his visit to Moscow to meet with President Vladimir Putin, stated to journalists, "The transfer of nuclear weapons has begun."

In response, White House Press Secretary Karen Jinpierre called Russia's move "irresponsible and provocative behavior" and described it as "another example of reckless and destabilizing actions."

However, she further stated, "We have not seen any reason for Russia to use nuclear weapons from our own assessment or any indication that Belarus has signaled Russia's readiness to use nuclear weapons. There has been no immediate information from Russia's side regarding the transfer of nuclear weapons."

As part of Russia's assistance in the Ukrainian campaign, Lukashenko has granted Moscow permission to use their territory for military purposes.

In March, Putin announced his intention to establish "strategic" nuclear weapons in Belarus. This announcement by Putin has received strong condemnation from the Western world.
