Md. Moshiur Rahman, a courageous freedom fighter hailing from Kedar village in Baldia union of Bhurungamari Upazila, Kurigram district, played a significant role in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. Despite being a mere 10th-grade student at Banga Sonarhat High School during that time, his dedication and fervor for the cause of freedom led him to actively participate in the struggle against oppression and injustice.

Moshiur Rahman was deeply inspired by the historic speech delivered by the revered leader of the liberation war, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, at the Race Course Maidan on March 7, 1971. Under the leadership of Flight Lieutenant Khademul Bashar, Sector 6 played a crucial role in coordinating operations against the Pakistani forces. Moshiur Rahman engaged in guerilla warfare alongside the Indian Army, Mukti Bahini, Army, and EPR, contributing significantly to the sector's efforts.
