In a press conference on Friday, US President Joe Biden issued a stern warning to Iran, expressing his expectation of imminent aggression towards Israel. Biden's remarks came in the wake of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran following a recent strike in Syria.

While refraining from divulging classified information, President Biden hinted at the likelihood of an Iranian attack on Israel in the near future. "I don't want to get into secure information but my expectation is sooner than later," Biden stated, indicating his administration's anticipation of potential hostilities.

Responding to questions regarding the US stance on such an attack, Biden's message to Iran was succinct: "Don't." The President underscored America's unwavering commitment to Israel's defense, affirming full support and assistance in safeguarding the nation against external threats. "We are devoted to the defense of Israel, we will support Israel, we will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed," he declared emphatically.

The backdrop to Biden's remarks lies in the aftermath of an Israeli strike on April 1, which targeted an Iranian diplomatic building in Damascus. The attack resulted in the deaths of seven members of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, including two generals. Iran has vowed retaliation for this strike, raising concerns of further escalation in the volatile region.

President Biden's statements reflect the gravity of the situation and the United States' firm stance against any aggression towards its ally, Israel. As tensions continue to simmer between Iran and Israel, the international community remains vigilant, hoping for a de-escalation of the conflict to prevent further destabilization in the Middle East.
