Sadhguru had been experiencing persistent and severe headaches for the past four weeks, yet he continued with his commitments, including conducting the MahaShivaratri event on March 8, 2024. However, the intensity of the headaches escalated significantly by March 14, prompting him to seek medical attention.

Emergency Procedure

Upon the advice of Dr. Vinit Suri, a Senior Consultant Neurologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Sadhguru underwent an urgent MRI on the same day, which revealed a substantial brain bleed. Further assessment indicated evidence of both chronic and fresh bleeds, necessitating immediate intervention. Despite his deteriorating neurological status, Sadhguru managed to fulfill his obligations on March 14, albeit under the influence of potent painkillers.

Critical Condition

However, Sadhguru's condition rapidly deteriorated, manifesting weakness in his left leg, exacerbated headaches, and recurrent vomiting. Consequently, he was admitted to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed severe brain swelling and a life-threatening shift of the brain. Acting swiftly, a team of medical experts, led by Dr. Vinit Suri, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Dr. Sudheer Tyagi, and Dr. S. Chatterjee, performed emergency brain surgery to alleviate the bleeding and mitigate further complications.

Recovery Process

Post-surgery, Sadhguru's condition has shown steady improvement, with his neurological status, physical condition, and vital signs returning to normal levels. The medical team continues to monitor his progress closely to ensure a full and swift recovery.
