In a thrilling encounter at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh secured a series victory against Sri Lanka, showcasing their dominance in the ODI format, particularly on home soil. The Tigers sealed the series 2-1 after a commanding performance in the third and final ODI.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka managed to post a competitive total of 235 runs in their allotted 50 overs. However, Bangladesh chased down the target with ease, reaching 236 runs with six wickets in hand and a substantial 58 balls to spare.

The opening partnership between Anamul Haque Bijoy and Tanzid Hasan Tamim laid a solid foundation for Bangladesh's chase. Despite an aggressive start, Sri Lankan pacer Lahiru Kumara managed to break the partnership, dismissing Bijoy for 12 runs. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto's early departure added pressure on the Tigers, but Tamim's aggressive batting kept them in control.

Towhid Hridoy provided valuable support to Tamim, stitching a crucial partnership of 49 runs. However, Kumara struck again, removing Hridoy for 22 runs. The middle order faltered briefly with Mahmudullah Riyad departing for just 1 run. Yet, Tamim continued to lead from the front, anchoring the innings.

Tamim's impressive knock of 84 runs off 81 balls came to an end when he was caught by Charith Asalanka off Wanindu Hasaranga's delivery. Despite his dismissal, Bangladesh's momentum remained intact, courtesy of a blistering innings by Rishad Hossain. His explosive 48 runs off a mere 18 balls left the Sri Lankan bowlers stunned and accelerated Bangladesh towards victory.

Mushfiqur Rahim's unbeaten 37 runs ensured Bangladesh crossed the finish line comfortably. Lahiru Kumara was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers, claiming four wickets, while Wanindu Hasaranga scalped two crucial wickets.
