BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has affirmed that the party will persist in its ongoing peaceful movement to reinstate democracy in Bangladesh.

"Our peaceful endeavours will endure. The citizens of Bangladesh are fervently advocating for the right to vote and the preservation of democratic principles. We are committed to sustaining our movement until the triumph of the people," Fakhrul stated during a press briefing following his release from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj this afternoon.

Upon exiting the prison gate around 3:45 pm, Fakhrul and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury were welcomed by over a hundred BNP leaders and activists who offered flowers and vocalized slogans.

Fakhrul emphasized, "The ongoing movement will lead to victory for the people of Bangladesh."

"The BNP's movement remains unscathed. Our pursuit to restore voting rights will persist. The government incurred a setback by conducting a one-sided election on January 7, but BNP has not suffered any losses," he added.

Khasru conveyed, "The people of Bangladesh have cast their votes in favour of democracy. Consequently, we will persist in our movement alongside the people until the restoration of democracy is accomplished."

He criticized the Awami League government, alleging that they "unlawfully seized power" through an election that "deprived people of their rights."

"Those who have illegitimately assumed power must be dispossessed, returning it to the people," Khasru asserted, highlighting their unjust incarceration.

"They [Awami League] have seized power by depriving people of their rights and coercing elections. The citizens have rejected them, and they have suffered a moral defeat in the election," he concluded.

Party sources indicate that both officials returned home following their release.

According to the party sources, the two top officials returned home after being released.
