Md. Nizam ul Azim, the Panel Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (Rasik), has been arrested by joint forces, as confirmed by RAB-5 captain Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous. The arrest was made in his locality on charges related to code of conduct violations, with further details to be disclosed later.

Nizam-ul-Azeem is implicated in a controversy involving the misuse of TCB cards, intended for local underprivileged individuals. Allegations suggest he coerced residents to vote for an independent candidate using these cards. This incident led to a formal complaint by representatives of 14 political parties to the Election Investigation Committee.

Following these developments, the committee's chairman issued warnings to four councillors of the Rajshahi City Corporation on Saturday morning. Subsequently, efforts were made to retrieve and redistribute the TCB cards among eligible residents in the affected area.
