Today, Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, described the BNP as a political parasite, predicting its eventual disappearance from the political landscape.

During an afternoon rally at Bangabandhu Chattar in Kabirhat Bazar, Quader made these remarks. He asserted that the BNP has been effectively sidelined in the political arena, likening their situation to receiving a red card in a game for foul play.

Quader specifically targeted BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, stating that he is remotely leading the party from London despite his criminal convictions. He commented on Rahman's call for a non-cooperation movement, noting ironically that it is Rahman himself who is being met with non-cooperation from the public.

Speaking to the electorate, Quader advocated for votes for the 'boat' symbol in the upcoming January 7 national elections. He emphasized this as crucial for sustaining democracy and ensuring another term for Sheikh Hasina.

Quader also highlighted the significant development in his constituency, Kabirhat, which had previously been neglected. He noted the substantial progress made over the past 15 years, particularly in terms of infrastructure.

The event was also attended by prominent figures such as Feni District AL General Secretary Nizam Uddin Hazari, MPs Morshed Alam (Noakhali-2) and Ekramul Karim Chowdhury (Noakhali-4), along with Kabirhat upazila AL President Mohammad Ibrahim and General Secretary Jahirul Haque Raihan.

Prior to this rally, Obaidul Quader had campaigned in several areas within his constituency, including Basurhat, Shantirhat, Rangmala Bazar, Bangla Bazar, Peshkarhat, Natun Bazar, and Tekerbazar.
